Week One:

This is the compilation for my Book of Me/365 project. I did the original designs as 6×6, but a book of 365 pages (well, 180 at 6×6) seemed a little … thick. So I decided I’d compile them as 3.5*3.5 on a 12×12 layout, leaving “two” spaces for journaling my thoughts of the week.
This was day seven’s quote. Kit is Club Scrap Solstice, but the journaling circle came from a Jessica Sprague kit.

Kittehs and old friends …

An old friend of mine, who I played youth group volleyball and learned how to not blow up Mrs. Varner’s Chem lab with in high school shared this quote with me today. She said she was driving and saw it on a billboard. When I saw the message from Brigitta, it came at a point where I needed it. She always has had amazing timing. All elements, minus the quote, are Club Scrap Fossils Digital Remix.

The second layout is from the same digital kit. This is me, napping with my kittyboy Dermot. Dermot’s an interesting guy. He picked me out from the cage at the Pet Smart rescue and adoption center about five years ago. I always go in and make a donation and usually play with the cats to help keep them socialized. He kept smacking me through the gate. I took him out and couldn’t put him down. Eventually I convinced my now-estranged husband (by phone nonetheless) that I had to bring this kitten home. And he’s been like a child to us ever since. Tomorrow he’ll be going to live with his daddy in his new place, and I’ll miss him terribly. Particularly his snuggles.

My sister sent me this poem. She said it reminded her of me. Sometimes I wish I could see myself the way she does. The digital elements are all Club Scrap’s Cyprus Digi Remix.

January 4

So, this is day four of my book of me project. Worked on it while procrastinating my real job and trying to find creative inspiration. That said, the design is inspired by a sketch by Jilli and sentiment by Create With TLC. (I just am a Paulette word art junkie!). Remaining elements are Club Scrap (of course) Digital Refresh Remix.

Create with TLC

I tried (valiantly, but to no avail this time) out for Paulette @Create With TLC’s design team, with a focus more on hybrid artwork and digiscrapping and created this layout using one of her slider designs. This is my friend Crickitt’s son at the Pumpkin Patch, the circle sentiment/title is Create With TLC, papers and other elements are Club Scrap Sonoma digi.

the first three days …

Just some digi mini-layouts for my project 365.

ClubScrap digi kits are used – Day 1 quote and kit is Lotus. Day 2 is Scholarship and Day 3 is Adobe. Quotes are just some that have fit my mood and mindset on any given day.

So … it’s a new year.

And after a crazy few months and holiday season, and a lot of personal upheaval, I’ve decided that I’m going to create a 365-Book of Me project where I’ll work through my changes and document where I’ve been and where I hope to go. So, here’s the cover. (Yeah, starting a couple days late, but here goes.) My plan is to do 4×4 digital layouts of quotes that inspire me a given day, and at the end of the week put them together in a 12×12 “weekly” layout. Not sure if I’ll do daily posts or weekly on the blog as I go, because I do have several paper and hybrid projects in mind as I get my self reconfigured, so to speak.

The first cover page is a quick-drop layout from Club Scrap’s December 2010 Vogue digi kit. I took a self-portrait of mine from about a year ago and sort of did it as a pencil-sketch through Photoshop.

Where Am I?
